Maricica Puică (born 29 July 1950 in Iaşi) is a Romanian former middle distance athlete, who won the 3000 meters gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, a race also remembered for the collision of Mary Decker and Zola Budd.[1]
In 1989 she spoke on Romanian television in support of the revolutionaries fighting against the regime of Nicolae Ceauşescu.
